Location

The 4-star Safari Island Resort is located in the heart of the Ari Atoll and spans approximately 30,000 m². The island is surrounded by a dreamlike white sandy beach, a crystal-clear turquoise lagoon, and a house reef with a magnificent underwater world (approx. 7 – 8 m from the beach). The transfer time from Male airport by seaplane is approximately 25 minutes; the island is located about 60 km from Male.

Your holiday resort promises a stay in a relaxed atmosphere. It features a total of 84 rooms, located both on land and on stilts over the water. Amenities include an open reception area with front desk, a souvenir shop, as well as the main restaurant with international cuisine and an unforgettable view, a bar, and a coffee shop. A small swimming pool provides variety and relaxing hours. Sun loungers, bath towels, and parasols are available free of charge. A special feature of this resort is the safari trips on a traditional yet comfortably equipped wooden boat (for a fee).

The attractively furnished Beach Bungalows are 45 m² in size and feature a bathtub, separate shower/WC, hairdryer, bathrobe, air conditioning, refrigerator, tea/coffee maker, satellite TV, telephone, and a furnished terrace (SBZ/SEB/RSB).

Semi Water Bungalow

With the same amenities and size, these bungalows additionally feature a terrace partially built on stilts over the water, with direct sea access and sea views (WA2/WA3).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Water Bungalow

With the same amenities and size, these additionally feature a glass-bottom table and are built completely over the water with direct sea access (2WB/3WB).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

When booking half-board, breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style. When booking full-board, lunch is included in addition. When booking half-board+, guests receive breakfast and dinner buffet-style and additionally a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks between 8:00 AM – midnight.

Unlimited drinks: bottled water, carbonated soft drinks (Coca Cola, Sprite, Fanta Orange, Bitter Lemon, Tonic Water, soda water, and iced tea), juice (orange, pineapple, apple, mango, grapefruit, and tomato), beer, house wine (red, white & rose), local spirits, cocktails, tea, and regular coffee are served by the glass at the bar. Various sandwiches (tomato, cheese, chicken, and tuna sandwiches) and cakes are served daily from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers for seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Male must be booked in advance. Costs for this must be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or longer waiting times at entry (our local agency will take care of a potential overnight stay here).
Most rooms in the Maldives are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. With an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, there may only be a total of 1 or 2 large beds available. Consequently, it may occur that with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child must sleep in the parents' bed. Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the island's location) as well as currently most domestic flights are only operated during daylight hours. Therefore, an overnight stay in Male may be necessary.
