Location

The Meliá Whale Lagoon Maldives is located in the South Ari Atoll, surrounded by white sandy beaches and a crystal-clear lagoon. The breathtaking house reef offers ideal conditions for snorkeling. The "South Ari Marine Protected Area" is just a stone's throw away and is famous for its abundance of whale sharks. The transfer time from the international airport is approx. 30 minutes by seaplane.

Facilities

This brand-new resort from the popular Spanish chain Meliá offers a total of 100 detached villas and suites that guarantee a new level of tranquility, luxury, and comfort. Amenities include an open-plan reception area with seating and a front desk. Several restaurants cater to guests' culinary needs, including the all-day dining restaurant and lounge "Sea Salt" with international cuisine and an open kitchen, as well as three specialty restaurants: "Breeze" with high-quality international snacks, "Magical" with a pool bar and appetizers, and "Aqua" with Mediterranean fusion cuisine. Culinary delights and unforgettable experiences are guaranteed. Cool refreshments are served at three bars. A snack bar and a beach club complete the diverse offering. Two infinity pools on the island invite guests to relax and unwind. The 37-meter-long main pool features Balinese beds and offers a breathtaking view of the sunset. Activities such as yoga and Pilates are also offered at the Lagoon Pool, a 250-degree panoramic infinity pool. Sun loungers, cushions, and parasols are available free of charge at the pools and on the beach.

Sunrise Villa

The spacious and modern Beach Villas offer plenty of space at 85 m² (incl. outdoor area), are situated on the sunrise side, and are just a few steps away from the powder-white sandy beach. The rooms feature a bathroom with shower, outdoor shower, and bathtub, air conditioning, 50" smart TV, Wi-Fi access, safe, coffee/tea maker, and minibar (for a fee), as well as a furnished terrace with a swing and sun loungers. Sunrise Water Villa

With similar equipment features and a slightly more spacious interior (total size is identical), these are built on stilts over the lagoon and are an oasis of peace and relaxation. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the "Sea Salt Restaurant". Dinner (set menu) at the "Aqua" restaurant is possible once per stay (by prior arrangement, minimum stay 5 nights). Coffee, tea, and snacks/cakes in the morning from 10:30-11:00 and in the afternoon from 16:00-16:30. Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as juices are available all day at the respective open bars (approx. 10:00-0:00). Daily replenishment of the minibar with selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and small snacks.

There may be 1–2 stopovers on seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Malé must be booked in advance. The costs for this are to be borne by the guest. Exceptions include changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or longer waiting times at immigration (in these cases, our local agency will take care of a potential overnight stay).
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the island's location), as well as currently most domestic flights, are only carried out during daylight hours. It may therefore be necessary to stay overnight in Male.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. With an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, it may be that only 1 or 2 large beds are available in total. Accordingly, it can happen that with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child must sleep in the parents' bed! An extra bed cannot be guaranteed in advance and is assigned locally subject to availability.
