Day 3 (Tuesday) BANGKOK-AYUTTHAYA-SUKHOTHAI:
From Bangkok, the journey first leads to Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam and today a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, visitors can expect impressive temple ruins, including Wat Mongkol Borpith with its huge bronze statue as well as Wat Phra Si Sanphet, once the most important temple of the historic royal city. We then continue to the Ang Thong province, where we visit Thailand's largest seated Buddha statue, the 84-meter-high "Big Buddha of Ang Thong". Another highlight is the imposing 50-meter-long reclining Buddha at Wat Khun Inthapramun. Through the rural landscapes of Central Thailand, the route finally continues to Sukhothai, the first capital of the Kingdom of Siam, where you will spend the night.
Overnight stay at Sukhothai Treasure Resort & Spa
Day 4 (Wednesday) SUKHOTHAI-CHIANG MAI:
After breakfast, the journey leads to the historic park of Sukhothai, the first capital of Thailand and today a UNESCO World Heritage site. Amidst impressive temple ruins and lovingly restored monuments, we explore the highlights of the park, including Wat Mahathat, Wat Sa Si, and Wat Si Sawai. Exploration is done comfortably by park train or optionally by bicycle. Afterward, we continue to the equally historic Si Satchanalai Historical Park, another significant testimony to early Thai culture. In the afternoon, we continue to Chiang Mai, where the day ends in a relaxed atmosphere and the overnight stay takes place at the hotel. Optionally, you can visit the city's famous night markets in the evening (not included in the price).
Overnight stay at Ibis Styles Chiang Mai or similar.
Day 5 (Thursday) CHIANG MAI:
This day is at your leisure.
Optionally, you can participate in an elephant care program, where rescued and elderly elephants can be observed in a natural environment and accompanied during their care. The focus is on the welfare of the animals – elephant riding is deliberately avoided. In the afternoon, a city tour of Chiang Mai can be taken, leading to the most important temples of the city, including Wat Phra Singh and Wat Suan Dok, as well as the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep located on a mountain. From here, an impressive view over the city and the surrounding landscape opens up (excursions not included in the price).
Overnight stay at Ibis Style Chiang Mai or similar.
Day 6 (Friday) CHIANG MAI-PHITSANULOK:
After breakfast, more cultural highlights of Northern Thailand are on the program. In Chiang Mai, we visit the extraordinary Wat Jed Yod temple with its seven characteristic chedis as well as the traditional Warorot market, known for its local specialties and authentic atmosphere. Afterward, the journey continues to Lampang, where we visit Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, one of the country's most significant temples. This temple houses one of the few Emerald Buddhas of Thailand outside of Bangkok. In the afternoon, we continue to Phitsanulok, where the day ends in a relaxed atmosphere and the overnight stay takes place at the hotel.
Overnight stay at The Imperial and Convention Centre Phitsanulok or similar.
Day 7 (Saturday) PHITSANULOK-KANCHANABURI:
Today's journey first leads to the cultural highlights of Phitsanulok. On the program are the significant Wat Mahathat as well as the traditional Buranathai Buddha Foundry, which offers fascinating insights into the centuries-old art of crafting Buddha statues. Afterward, the journey continues to Kanchanaburi. There, visitors will find the world-famous Bridge over the River Kwai, which is closely linked to the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway built during World War II. A walk along the so-called Death Railway reveals impressive evidence of this turbulent past. The evening is at your leisure and invites you to relax at the hotel.
Overnight stay at Felix River Kwai Resort or similar.
Day 8 (Sunday) KANCHANBURI-PETCHABURI-CHA-AM
7:00 AM check-out at the hotel and drive to Samut Songkhram.
