Location

The Golden Mare Resort is located in the town of Barbati, in the east of Corfu, separated from the sand/pebble beach only by a road and a few steps. Shopping and entertainment facilities can be found in the immediate vicinity. Free shuttle bus to the beach in Barbati with several trips daily. The airport and Corfu Town are reachable in approx. 20 km.

The complex is built on a hillside, features 100 rooms and offers an indoor lobby with a 24-hour reception, luggage room, bar, main restaurant, à-la-carte restaurant "Galaxy" (for a fee), and a mini-market. Wi-Fi is included throughout the complex.
In the well-maintained garden area, there is a swimming pool, sun terrace, pool bar, and the "Golden View" roof bar (for a fee). Sun loungers and umbrellas are included at the pool and available at the beach for a fee.

The modernly furnished rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, slippers, individually adjustable air conditioning, 40" LCD TV, DVD player (on request), safe, Wi-Fi, coffee/tea station, mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (D).

Superior double room sea view

Located in the annex built in 2019 in the upper part of the complex, these feature the same equipment as the double rooms plus an electric kettle and a direct sea view (DMU).

Junior suite sea view

Also located in the annex built in 2019 in the upper part of the complex, these are more spacious than the superior double rooms and also feature a direct sea view (J2M).

Breakfast 7 am – 10 am, late riser breakfast 10 am – 11 am, lunch 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm and dinner 7 pm – 9:30 pm are served as buffets.

Destination information regarding climate resilience levy

For stays from 1.1.2018, the Greek government imposes a climate resilience levy, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room as of 1.1.2025.
