Location

The Georgioupolis Resort is an exclusive holiday resort, separated from the gently sloping sandy beach only by the main road (approx. 250 m via an underpass; a shuttle service is available upon request). It is located approx. 3 km from the village of Georgioupolis and 700 m from the center of Kavros. The famous Lake Kournas, the only natural freshwater lake in Crete, is approx. 3 km away. Chania Airport is approx. 48 km away and Heraklion Airport is approx. 101 km away.

The sprawling hotel complex with 155 rooms consists of a main building and several two-story bungalow buildings. The main building houses a bright, new, and luxurious lobby with a 24-hour reception, satellite TV corner, Wi-Fi (included throughout the hotel complex), mini-market, a non-smoking restaurant with a new design, the "Elia" à la carte restaurant with a partially covered outdoor terrace, as well as several bars (weather permitting). The spacious outdoor area features a large "Activity Pool" as well as a quiet/relaxation pool with a sun terrace, pool/snack bars, a Meze restaurant, and a grill/fish restaurant on the beach (weather permitting, reservation required).
Since the summer of 2020, there has been an on-site water park with various slides and water features for guests of all ages.
There is a beach bar and a "Sweet Corner" on the beach, offering a wide selection of desserts and ice cream.
Sun loungers and parasols are provided free of charge on the beach. Balinese beds are also available and can be reserved upon availability (for a fee; included with AI Plus, subject to availability). Pool towels are available for a deposit. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel complex.

Superior Double Room

The freshly renovated rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning, mini-fridge (one bottle of water included upon arrival), minibar (for a fee), satellite TV, telephone, safe, and a balcony or terrace. They are located in the bungalow buildings or the main building and are modernly furnished (DSU). Also available for single occupancy (DSE/UB1). Additionally, a welcome basket, bathrobes, slippers, a kettle, and coffee/tea-making facilities are included.

These are Superior Double Rooms with the same amenities, located in the bungalows with garden views (B2A/B2B). Additionally, a welcome basket, bathrobes, slippers, a kettle, and coffee/tea-making facilities are included.

Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Superior Family Room

Located in the bungalow buildings or the main building, these are renovated and furnished in a fresh design. Same amenities as the Superior Double Room, but more spacious and featuring a separate bedroom with a sofa bed or additional sleeping beds (F2U). Additionally, a welcome basket, bathrobes, slippers, a kettle, minibar (if AI is booked, replenished every 2 days with 2x cans of beer/cola and 1x Sprite each; further drinks and snacks are for a fee), and coffee/tea-making facilities are included.

Junior Suite

The comfortably furnished Junior Suites are located on the ground floor and feature a bedroom with a king-size bed and a separate living area with a sofa bed, bathroom with walk-in shower/WC, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, and toiletries, 2x individually adjustable air conditioning, fan, safe, 2x 46" Smart Satellite TV with HDMI connection, telephone, coffee and tea station, espresso machine (4 capsules daily per room), as well as a minibar (included for AI guests and refilled daily with 2 cans of beer, 2 cans of soft drinks, 2 bottles of water, and 2 juices; for HB, replenishment is for a fee). Laptops, tablets, iPads, e-book readers, or PlayStations can be rented upon request and availability against a deposit. Further amenities include an additional turndown service in the afternoon and a full-length mirror. All Junior Suites feature a terrace with a table and chairs (bookable under hotel code HER713, JS2/J2B). Meals

Half Board

Breakfast and dinner in buffet form. Dinner is also available between 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM in the "Elia" à la carte restaurant, the Meze restaurant, or the grill/fish restaurant on the beach, reservation required, for an extra charge. Drinks are generally not included for guests with the Half Board meal plan. Vegetarian meals and special dietary meals are offered (upon request on-site in the restaurant).
Appropriate clothing is requested for dinner.

All Inclusive

Breakfast (7:00 AM - 10:00 AM), lunch (12:30 PM - 2:30 PM), and dinner (6:30 PM - 9:30 PM) with regular theme nights in buffet style in the main restaurant. Early-bird breakfast until 7:30 AM; late risers receive a small breakfast from 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM (upon request). A midnight snack is offered from 10:30 PM - 12:00 AM.
Once per week, dinner in the "Elia" à la carte restaurant, the Meze restaurant, or the grill restaurant on the beach is included (reservation required, drinks for a fee, guests receive a 20% discount on drinks).
From 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM, a selection of snacks, sweets, and ice cream is also available.
Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included from 10:00 AM - 12:00 AM at the respective open bar: soft drinks, water, soda, various juices, beer, open wines (white and red), ouzo, raki, brandy, vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whisky, liqueurs, as well as selected cocktails.
Selected drinks and snacks are included at the beach bar.

All Inclusive Plus

In addition to the points mentioned in All Inclusive, dinner can optionally be taken in the "Elia" à la carte restaurant, the Meze restaurant, or the grill restaurant on the beach, subject to availability (limited availability, reservation required). Selected wines are included, while other wines are available according to the menu and for a fee (with a 20% discount).
The minibar is refilled every two days with 2 cans of beer and cola and 1 Sprite each; this is also included. Further drinks and snacks are available for a fee.
Additionally, various iced coffee variations, over 25 cocktails, and a large selection of international brand spirits are included.
Drinks and snacks are also included at the beach bar.

Destination information (Climate Resilience Levy)

For stays starting from 1.1.2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience levy, which must be paid by the guest on-site, similar to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 euros to 15 euros per day and room starting 1.1.2025.
