Location

The family-friendly hotel Petra Mare is located directly on a sandy/pebble beach. The center of Ierapetra, with its numerous shopping and entertainment options, can be reached in approximately 15 minutes on foot. Heraklion Airport is about 100 km from the hotel. A bus stop can be reached after approximately 850 meters.

Facilities

The Petra Mare hotel has a total of 227 spacious rooms spread over four floors. Facilities include a 24-hour reception with an entrance area, three elevators, and a comfortable lounge corner. Furthermore, there is a restaurant with an outdoor terrace as well as the à la carte restaurants "Almyra" and "Elia". Additional amenities include a mini-market and a multi-purpose hall. The well-maintained grounds feature a large seawater pool with hydromassage and a children's area with a children's pool (the pools are heated in the low season). The pool/snack bar and an open-air theater are located in the immediate vicinity. Bath towels, sun loungers, and umbrellas are available for free by the pool and at the beach. Wi-Fi can be used throughout the facility free of charge.

Information on climate resilience tax

For stays from 01/01/2018, the Greek government has introduced a climate resilience tax, which is to be paid by the guest on-site, similar to a local tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room as of 01/01/2025.
For stays in the high season 1/4 - 31/10:

Land category 4 stars: 10 Euro
