Location

The Mare Village hotel is located in the south of Crete, approximately 400 m from the sandy/pebble beach, which has been awarded the "Blue Flag". The sister hotel, "Mare Blue", can be reached via an underpass after approximately 300 m. The nearby village of Koutsounari is about 700 m away, and the distance to the well-known town of Ierapetra, with its numerous entertainment options, is approximately 8 km. Heraklion airport is located about 100 km from the hotel. A bus stop can be reached after a short walk (approx. 100 m away).

Facilities

The hotel, partially renovated in 2025, has a total of 107 rooms distributed between a main building and two annexes. It offers guests an entrance area with a reception, TV lounge, elevators (in the main building), the main restaurant "Minos", and the "Sunset" pool bar. In the well-maintained outdoor area of the hotel, there is a swimming pool with a sun terrace and a separate children's pool. Wi-Fi is included throughout the entire complex and in the rooms. Sun loungers and umbrellas at the pool are included, and pool towels are also provided free of charge; a change is possible every three days. Parking spaces are free and subject to availability.

Family room garden view

Consisting of a living/sleeping area with sofa beds and a separate bedroom with double or twin beds, these rooms offer ideal accommodation for families. They are equipped with a bathroom with shower or bathtub/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning (May 1st – Sept 30th), safe, satellite TV, telephone, mini-fridge (filled with a bottle of water upon arrival), as well as a furnished balcony or terrace (DF2).

With the same facilities as the family rooms with garden view, these rooms impress with their view of the Libyan Sea (F2M).

Breakfast (7:00 am – 10:00 am), lunch (12:30 pm – 2:30 pm), and dinner (7:00 pm – 9:30 pm) in buffet form in the main restaurant. For late risers, a late breakfast is offered from 10:00 am – 10:30 am.
Hot and cold snacks are served at the "Sunset" pool bar (2:30 pm – 3:30 pm). From 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm, coffee and tea with pastries are served.
Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included from 10:00 am – 11:00 pm at the "Sunset" pool bar.
Gluten-free as well as special dietary meals are also available.

Not included in All Inclusive

Drink orders after 11:00 pm, as well as freshly squeezed juices, milkshakes, selected wines and cocktails, champagne, and premium spirits are not included in the All Inclusive package.

Sports included

Open-air fitness corner, tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball, mini-football, basketball (all at the sister hotel, Mare Blue).

Sports for a fee

Water sports at the beach provided by local operators (at the sister hotel, Mare Blue).

Destination information: Climate resilience fee

For stays starting from Jan 1st, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 euros to 15 euros per day and room as of Jan 1st, 2025.
