Location

The family-run Hotel South Coast is situated directly on the natural pebble beach of Koutsouras and offers the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday in a quiet atmosphere. Swimming shoes are recommended for a comfortable entry into the sea. In the idyllic village of Koutsouras, cozy tavernas and various shops invite you to linger. The town of Ierapetra is located about 24 km away. A bus stop is approximately 50 m from the hotel. Heraklion Airport can be reached after about 110 km.

This small complex is family-run with great passion and is a schauinsland-reisen-Original. Your hosts and the entire team ensure an all-around pleasant holiday. The 82 rooms in total are spread across 5 buildings. Inside, the comfortably furnished hotel offers guests a 24-hour reception, a souvenir shop, a TV and lounge area with satellite TV, and a restaurant. Wi-Fi is included throughout the complex. Outside, there are two beautifully landscaped swimming pools with inviting sun terraces, framed by the lush garden with palm trees, as well as a pool/snack bar with a seating terrace. Sun loungers and parasols are available free of charge at the pool; at the beach, loungers and parasols are available for a fee. Bath towels can be rented for a fee. There is also an additional annex with its own swimming pool, loungers, parasols, and a pool bar.
In addition to the hotel, the family operates its own aloe vera plantation and is happy to provide information about the cultivation, processing, and quality of the cosmetics series derived from it. The in-house products can be purchased at the hotel.

Deluxe Double Room Renovated

Renovated for the summer of 2025, the Deluxe Double Rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, individually adjustable air conditioning, safe, telephone, TV, kettle, mini-fridge, dining area, and a balcony or terrace (DD2).
Also available for single occupancy (DD1).

Superior Double Room

Renovated for the summer of 2025, the Superior Double Rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, individually adjustable air conditioning, safe, telephone, TV, kettle, mini-fridge, dining area, and a balcony or terrace. Additionally, an espresso machine with 2 capsules is provided upon arrival (DSU/DSI).
Also available for single occupancy (DSE).

Chillout Double Room

Newly built for the summer of 2026, these rooms feature the same amenities as the Superior Double Rooms, with the addition of a ceiling fan, bathrobes, slippers, full-body and vanity mirrors, as well as a furnished balcony or terrace with 2 cozy loungers, 2 gazebos, or 2 lounge chairs (C2D/ACD).
Also available for single occupancy (C1H).

Maisonette

The modernly designed maisonettes are located in the annex building. They feature the same amenities as the Superior Double Rooms, with the addition of a sleeping area on the upper floor (accessible via stairs). Further amenities include daily cleaning and daily towel changes. Bed linen is changed twice a week (M2/TM2).

Deluxe Suite

Also renovated for the summer of 2025, the Deluxe Suites feature the same amenities as the Deluxe Double Rooms, with a separate bedroom and more space (S2/SI).

Note on climate resilience levy

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience levy, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and is staggered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room as of January 1, 2025.
