Location

Surrounded by a palm oasis near the beach and the blue sea, the extremely charming Akrogiali Beach Hotel on Crete is a paradise of tranquility, idyllically located in the bubbling resort of Malia on the island of Crete in Greece.
Located directly on the gently sloping sandy beach, only approx. 35 km from Heraklion, the vibrant capital of the island of Crete, and only 300 meters from the lively center of Malia.

The small schauinsland-reisen original facility is presented with great attention to detail in a modern design.
Together with the very warm and helpful nature of the owner Loula and her equally warm team, nothing stands in the way of a typical Greek holiday "like with friends".
Hospitality is lived here. The facility has a total of 57 rooms, spread across several buildings. In addition, there is a reception with a small lobby, a swimming pool with a sun terrace, a children's pool, and a pool bar/snack bar. Sunbeds and umbrellas are included by the pool, and are available for a fee on the beach.

Accommodation

Studio Type A

The comfortably furnished studios (AST), located in the outbuilding, are equipped with a double bed and feature a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, safe (for a fee), kitchenette with a 2-burner stove, microwave, mini-fridge and coffee/tea station), a bathroom with bathtub or shower/WC, and a furnished balcony or terrace with a garden view.
Also available as a 3-bed room (S2B) or for single occupancy (S1B).
The rooms are located in the outbuilding, across the street. The beach is approx. 250 m from the rooms.

Studio side sea view

The studios with side sea view (M2S) in the main building, with otherwise identical features to the studios Type A, have a side sea view.

Apartment side sea view

The apartments with side sea view (2AS/AIS), located in the main building, are equipped with a combined living/bedroom with sleeping arrangements for up to 2 people (sofa beds) and feature a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, safe (for a fee), kitchenette with a 2-burner stove, microwave, mini-fridge and coffee/tea station), a separate bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with shower/WC, and a furnished balcony with a side sea view.
Also available for single occupancy (1AS).

Note on Climate Resilience Levy

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience tax, which is to be paid by the guest on-site, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room starting January 1, 2025.
For stays during the high season from April 1 to October 31:
National category 1-2 stars: 2 Euros
National category 3 stars: 5 Euros
National category 4 stars: 10 Euros
National category 5 stars: 15 Euros
For stays during the low season from November 1 to March 31:
