Location

Hotel Malia Bay is located directly on one of Crete's most beautiful beaches. The gently shelving, fine sandy, and kilometer-long beach is directly adjacent to the hotel complex. The lively center of Malia is approximately 1.5 km away. Restaurants, bars, cafés, and shopping facilities are within walking distance. Heraklion Airport is at a distance of approximately 34 km, and the nearest bus stop is about 1 km from the hotel.

The family-friendly hotel has 179 rooms distributed between the main building and several 1- and 2-story row bungalows. The main building houses the reception area with a 24-hour front desk, elevator, a lounge area, lobby bar, pool/snack bar, satellite TV corner, and a restaurant with a terrace. The beautiful garden area features four seawater swimming pools with sun terraces and sunbathing lawns, as well as a separate children's pool. Sun loungers and parasols are included at the pool and available for a fee at the beach. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the hotel complex.

The swim-up pool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We ask for prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased risk potential for small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Double Room Superior

The renovated Superior double rooms offer a shower/WC, hairdryer, toiletries, air conditioning, safe, telephone, satellite TV, mini-fridge, and balcony or terrace. Furthermore, these modern rooms are additionally equipped with a coffee/tea maker, electric kettle, bathrobes, and slippers (DSU/DSI).
Also optionally bookable with sea view (DMU/DIM).

Destination information (Climate Resilience Charge)

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government imposes a climate resilience charge, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and, as of January 1, 2025, ranges from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and per room.
