The modern "Grecotel Plaza Beach House" in Rethymnon is separated from the Blue Flag awarded sand/shingle beach by a quiet coastal road. The harbor and the old town, with its shopping and entertainment venues, are approx. 3 km from the hotel. The distance to Heraklion airport is approx. 80 km and to Chania airport approx. 71 km.

Facilities

The stylish hotel complex features 84 studios and apartments and offers guests a lobby with reception, lobby bar, a main restaurant, an à-la-carte restaurant, and a bar. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the complex. The outdoor area includes a freshwater pool with sea view, another freshwater pool, as well as a freshwater children's paddling pool. An ice cream kiosk and a traditional patisserie round off the range of services. Sun umbrellas and sun loungers are included on the outdoor sun terraces and at the beach.

Plaza Studio Sea View

Decorated in a boho style, the studios feature double beds and a single bed for the third person, bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace with sea view (PLM). The studios have an open-plan layout, either in a maisonette style or on one level. The maisonettes have a bedroom in the upper area and a living room with kitchenette and bathroom in the lower area.

Superior Plaza Apartment

These spacious apartments are located on the ground floor or first floor and feature a combined living/sleeping area with a sofa bed, a separate bedroom, a kitchenette, as well as bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (PLA). Optionally bookable with a sea view (APM/AMI).

Petit Loft Maisonette

The maisonettes are two-story, more spacious with bunk beds, and feature bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (PLB). Optionally bookable as the more spacious Master Loft Maisonette (MLE).

Loft 2-Bedroom Maisonette

The lofts consist of a living room with kitchenette, two bedrooms, and two showers/WC. They are designed in a maisonette style and feature bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace (LOM/2IA).

Plaza Grande Apartment

These apartments feature the same facilities as the 2-bedroom lofts but are not necessarily designed in a maisonette style (PLC/2IA).

Family Apartment

The family apartments are located on the ground floor or first floor and consist of a combined living/sleeping area with bunk beds and a separate bedroom with a double bed. The rooms feature bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, kitchenette, safe, TV, water upon arrival, and a furnished balcony or terrace with garden view (APF).

Family Apartment Sharing Pool

With the same facilities as the family apartments, the Family Apartments Sharing Pool feature access to a sharing pool (2AF).
The sharing pool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We request that you exercise caution and pay special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for small children.
Therefore, for security reasons, schauinsland-reisen applies a minimum age of 6 years for children booking these room types.

Meals

Breakfast/Half board

A varied breakfast buffet awaits you. A late continental breakfast is available. An early breakfast service and in-room breakfast service are available upon request.
When booking half board, dinner is included in the "House Kitchen Restaurant".

Note on climate resilience tax

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience tax, which is to be paid by the guest locally, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room starting January 1, 2025.
For stays during the high season (April 1 to October 31):
