Location

The small hotel, fully renovated in summer 2026, is a Schauinsland-Reisen Original and an ideal holiday destination for couples, singles, and families looking for peace and quiet. It is situated in a quiet location in the district of Sfakaki, slightly elevated directly on the coast. The sandy/shingle beach is located directly below the hotel and is accessible via stairs. Shopping and entertainment options can be found in the immediate vicinity. Rethymnon is approximately 10 km away. Heraklion and its airport are approximately 73 km away, while Chania Airport is about 78 km away. A bus stop is located about 200 m from the hotel.

Amenities

At the family-run and very lovingly managed Ekavi Hotel, the motto is "arrive as a guest, leave as a friend." ME FILOUS stands for special hospitality, with which the German-speaking owner, Chrisoula, and her entire team make every holiday day something special. This small hotel is not only an ideal place for relaxation but also a perfect base for discovering the diverse island. The 59 renovated residential units, spread over two floors, have also been renovated and offer every comfort. The central hub is the reception (staffed for 17 hours) with a safe for hire and a cozy lounge. Additionally, there is a breakfast room and a bar. An à-la-carte restaurant with a terrace offers Greek and international delicacies while enjoying the sunset. In the well-kept outdoor area, a sun terrace with comfortable loungers and daybeds surrounding the freshwater swimming pool invites you to linger, making it an ideal meeting point for pleasant conversations and relaxing hours in the sun. The adjacent pool bar provides refreshments. Sun loungers and umbrellas are complimentary at the pool and available for a fee at the beach.
Wi-Fi is included in public areas and in the rooms.

The renovated Deluxe Double Rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, individually controlled air conditioning, ceiling fan, telephone, satellite TV, mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (DD2/DDI).

The renovated Superior Double Rooms offer the same features but are more spacious (DSU).

Breakfast is served in buffet style from 8:00 to 10:00. Dinner is also available as a buffet from 19:00 to 21:00.

Note on climate resilience fee

For stays from 01/01/2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest locally, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and has been tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room as of 01/01/2025.
