The Quinta do Arco by Pestana is our secret tip for those seeking peace and quiet or for couples in love. It is situated amidst green mountains in the north of Madeira and is an ideal starting point for hikes. Harmoniously integrated into the rural life of the region, you will spend quiet days here, far from the bustling island capital of Funchal in the south. In the small town of "Arco de Sao Jorge", you will find shopping facilities and the popular restaurant "The Arco". The centre of Funchal can be reached in approx. 50 minutes by car (50 km). Built in 2003, the Quinta has a total of 18 country-style residential units, which are distributed among detached small villas located in the garden. Surrounded by lush subtropical plants and fruit trees, as well as the largest collection of roses Portugal has to offer, a walk through the beautiful and spacious grounds is well worth it. Further amenities of the Quinta include a reception (open 8:00 a.m. – midnight), the 'Casa de Cha' restaurant (open for special occasions only), a small bar with a fireplace, pool table and library, as well as 2 outdoor pools with a veranda, seating areas, and hammocks.

Villa

Decorated in a tasteful, local style, these approx. 60 m² detached villas are surrounded by subtropical gardens and feature a bathroom with bathtub, WC and hairdryer, a lovely living area with a fireplace (firewood included in winter months), a well-equipped kitchenette with refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster and breakfast table, a separate bedroom, Wi-Fi (included), cable TV, telephone and minibar (for a fee), as well as a terrace or balcony with views of the gardens and the imposing mountains.

Villa Duplex

The Duplex Villas have the same amenities as the standard Villas but are larger. The bedroom is usually located on the upper floor.

Breakfast is served buffet-style at the "O Roseiral" restaurant. With half board, dinner is an additional 3-course menu at the "O Roseiral" restaurant. The "O Roseiral" restaurant is located approx. 100 m away. There is no shuttle bus to the "O Roseiral" restaurant.

Important information regarding meals at Christmas

The "O Roseiral" restaurant is closed on 25.12. Hotel guests with half board (HB) will receive dinner for 25.12. as a take-away on 24.12. Further information is available to guests at the hotel reception.

A stay at Quinta do Arco is especially rewarding in the summer months, as more than 1500 species of roses are in bloom, emitting an irresistible fragrance. As a guest of the resort, you have unlimited and free access. However, a stay in the winter months is also worthwhile, when you can sit comfortably in the evening with a glass of wine by the crackling fireplace in your villa and reflect on the day.
