The hotel, completely renovated in 2022, has a total of 104 units spread over 8 floors and connects to the adjacent sister hotel, Rocamar. Facilities include a reception, elevator, lounge and indoor pool (heated). The outdoor area features a freshwater swimming pool (unheated), a sun terrace (sun loungers and 1 towel per person/stay included) and direct access to the sea (via steps).

The renovated studios feature a bathroom with walk-in shower/WC, hairdryer, a fully equipped kitchenette (hotplates, fridge, kettle, toaster and standard set of dishes, pots, microwave, etc.), air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV and rental safe (for a fee), Wi-Fi (included) and are located on the land side (U2S). Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
Take the motorway towards Funchal. After about 10 minutes, you will reach the Caniço/Caniço de Baixo exit. Turn left here (towards Caniço de Baixo). Continue straight ahead until you see the hotel signpost. Turn right there. Then turn left once, and continue straight ahead until you see the signs for the hotels Rocamar and Royal Orchid. Turn right again and then left, and you will arrive at the parking lot in front of the Royal Orchid hotel.
