Veranda cabin

Veranda cabins offer a feeling of freedom right outside the cabin door. With 16–20 m² of interior space and a generous outdoor area of 4–16 m², a harmonious mix of living comfort and fresh sea air is created. A private veranda with a hammock, flexible sleeping arrangements, and a modern bathroom with a shower transform this area into a personal favorite spot – ideal for unwinding.

More space for real vacation moments: The Veranda cabins comfort offer around 20 m² of living space and a spacious veranda (4–16 m²), ideal for relaxing hours in the fresh sea air. The hammock on the veranda makes the view of the sea a perfect moment of enjoyment.

Special cabin requests cannot be taken into account; subsequent rebookings or changes are excluded.

Booking for children under 2 years
Booking can only be made upon request. Initially, an option without infant is created. Please note: the maximum occupancy in all cabin categories is 4 people incl. baby. Subsequently, a binding inquiry with all required data is sent via email. If no option is available, a booking request via email is recommended.

Persons residing in areas sanctioned by OFAC are excluded from participating in cruises. Nationals of Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Ukraine can only be transported with proof of permanent residence outside the mentioned regions.

Location

The hotel is located directly on the sandy beach of Playa Bavaro. Restaurants, bars, and various shopping and entertainment options are nearby. It is only 25 km to the international airport of Punta Cana.

Completely renovated for winter 19/20, the Iberostar Selection Bavaro consists of a total of 598 rooms that leave nothing to be desired. They are distributed among several two-story bungalows within the tropical hotel grounds. Furthermore, the hotel has a lobby with reception, a buffet restaurant, 6 à la carte restaurants (Greek, gourmet restaurant, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and steakhouse), a beach restaurant, 5 bars, a swim-up bar, garden area with a lagoon-style pool landscape, sun terrace, and snack bar.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suites feature a sleeping and living area with a sofa bed, coffee/tea maker, minibar, air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, Wi-Fi (incl.), telephone, bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, and balcony or terrace (JS2/JS1/KJ1/KJ2). Also bookable as an Oceanfront Junior Suite (2JO) and in winter as a super-saver room (SSZ/SSE).

Junior Suite Tropical View

With the same equipment and size as the Junior Suites, these are located closer to the sea and additionally offer turndown service (once per stay), garden or pool view (PTZ). Also bookable closer to the pool as Junior Suite Near Pool (NPS). Also bookable closer to the beach as Junior Suite Near Beach (JNB) or in the first beach row with sea view as Junior Suite Ocean Front (2JO).

Family Suite

With the same equipment and size as the Junior Suites, these consist of two Junior Suites with a connecting door (2FS/KF3/KF5/KF6).

Spa Junior Suite

With the same equipment and size as the Junior Suites with king-size bed or two double beds, tea set, bathrobes (J2F).

Junior Suite Pool Access

With the same equipment as the Junior Suite, these rooms feature a terrace and are located in direct proximity to the pool (no private pool, no sharing pool) (2YZ).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased safety hazard for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen applies a minimum age of 6 years for children for bookings of these room types.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds are placed in the room; this means occupancy: 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Junior Suite Pool Access Terrace (PUJ192I)

Equipped similarly to the Junior Suite Pool Access, these Junior Suites are located directly by the pool, which can be reached via the terrace (no private pool, no sharing pool, JRT). Optionally also bookable for single use (T1D).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased safety hazard for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen applies a minimum age of 6 years for children for bookings of these room types.

One Bedroom Family (PUJ192I)

The approx. 41 m² family junior suites are located on the 1st or 2nd floor near the Star Camp. They offer a king-size bed and a bunk bed (2FP).

Zusatzhinweis

Features the Winnow system to reduce food waste, 3R devices for
waste management in the hotels, and installed drinking water fountains.
Guests staying in the Bávaro complex can visit the Coral Lab to see
corals and learn more about them, thanks to the two coral nurseries in front of the hotel, where
we work with our scientific team to restore the reefs.
The hotel has its own composting plant. Organic waste is converted into compost,
which we can use for our gardens.
We are part of the country's national mangrove restoration program, and in the
Bávaro complex, we have planted more than 19,000 mangroves donated by the Ministry of Environment.
Beehives are rescued and brought to the apiary that we have in the complex, which can be
visited by all guests.
In collaboration with the National Aquarium, the Dominican Republic Institute for Environmental Law, and the Blue Flag program, the National Aquarium rescues
turtles. Once they have reached an appropriate size and health, they are released on the beaches of the Iberostar hotels.

Seasonal information

During a stay between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seagrass and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased appearance of brown algae in the Caribbean is often recorded. Here, the beach and the sea are affected. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate machinery is necessary for this, which causes a slight noise level.
