Veranda cabin

The veranda cabins offer a sense of freedom right outside your cabin door. On 16–20 m² of interior space and a generous outdoor area of 4–16 m², a harmonious mix of living comfort and fresh sea air is created. A private veranda with hammock, flexible sleeping arrangements, and a modern bathroom with shower turn this area into a personal favorite spot – ideal for unwinding.

The hammock on the veranda makes the sea view the perfect moment of enjoyment.

The choice is made between Veranda Comfort, Balcony, Oceanview, or Inside cabin. The exact cabin and deck assignment is handled by AIDA Cruises. This may also include accessible cabins, cabins with twin beds, obstructed views, or connecting doors. Special cabin requests cannot be taken into account; later rebookings or changes are excluded.

Booking children under 2 years old
Booking can only be made on request. Initially, an option without an infant is created. Please note: the maximum occupancy in all cabin categories is 4 persons incl. baby. Subsequently, a binding request with all required data is sent via e-mail. If no option is available, a booking request via e-mail is recommended.

Important note:
Persons residing in areas sanctioned by OFAC are excluded from participating in cruises. Citizens of Russia, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Ukraine can only be transported with proof of permanent residence outside the aforementioned regions.

Location

The hotel is located directly on the sandy beach of Playa Bavaro. Restaurants, bars, and various shopping and entertainment venues are in the vicinity. It is only 25 km to the international airport of Punta Cana.

Completely renovated in winter 19/20, the Iberostar Selection Bavaro consists of a total of 598 rooms that leave nothing to be desired. They are distributed among several two-story bungalows within the tropically landscaped hotel grounds. Furthermore, the hotel features a lobby with reception, buffet restaurant, 6 à-la-carte restaurants (Greek, gourmet restaurant, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and steakhouse), beach restaurant, 5 bars, swim-up bar, garden area with lagoon-style pool landscape, sun terrace, and snack bar.

Junior suite

The junior suites feature a sleeping and living area with sofa bed, coffee/tea maker, minibar, air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, Wi-Fi (incl.), telephone, bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, and balcony or terrace (JS2/JS1/KJ1/KJ2). Also bookable as Oceanfront Junior Suite (2JO) and in winter as a super-saver room (SSZ/SSE).

Junior suite Tropical View

With the same amenities and size as the junior suites, these are located closer to the sea and also offer a turndown service (once per stay), garden or pool view (PTZ). Also bookable as Junior Suite Near Pool (NPS) located closer to the pool. Also bookable as Junior Suite Near Beach (JNB) closer to the beach, or first beach row with sea view as Junior Suite Ocean Front (2JO).

Family suite

With otherwise the same amenities and size as the junior suites, these consist of two junior suites with connecting door (2FS/KF3/KF5/KF6).

Spa Junior suite

With the same amenities and size as the junior suites with king-size bed or two double beds, tea set, bathrobes (J2F).

With the same amenities as the junior suite, these rooms feature a terrace and are located directly by the pool (no private pool, no sharing pool) (2YZ).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds are placed in the room; this means occupancy: 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Junior suite Pool Access Terrace (PUJ192I)

Equipped similarly to the Junior Suites Pool Access, these junior suites are located directly by the pool, which is accessible via the terrace (no private pool, no sharing pool, JRT). Optionally also bookable for single use (T1D).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

One Bedroom Family (PUJ192I)

The approx. 41 m² family junior suites are located on the 1st or second floor near the Star Camp. They offer a king-size bed and a bunk bed (2FP).

Zusatzhinweis

Features the Winnow system to reduce food waste, 3R equipment for waste management in the hotels, and installed drinking water fountains.
Guests staying at the Bávaro complex can visit the Coral Lab to see corals and learn more about them. Thanks to the two coral nurseries in front of the hotel, where we work with our scientific team to restore the reefs.
The hotel has its own composting plant. Organic waste is converted into compost, which we can use for our gardens.
We are part of the country's national mangrove restoration program, and in the Bávaro complex, we have planted more than 19,000 mangroves donated by the Ministry of Environment.
Beehives are rescued and brought to the apiary that we have in the complex, which can be visited by all guests.
In collaboration with the National Aquarium, the Dominican Republic Institute for Environmental Law, and the Blue Flag program, the National Aquarium rescues turtles. Once they reach an appropriate size and state of health, they are released on the beaches of the Iberostar hotels.

Seasonal information

During a stay between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seagrass and algae due to wind, temperature, and current. In particular, an increased occurrence of brown algae is often recorded in the Caribbean. The beach and the sea are affected by this. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, endeavoring to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate equipment is necessary for this, which causes a slight noise level.
