The 5-star Iberostar Punta Cana hotel is located on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic, directly on the shores of the heavenly Playa Bávaro beach. In the immediate vicinity is a vast tropical beach section, which is surrounded by a coral reef. Punta Cana airport is approx. 25 km from the hotel.

The luxury hotel comprises a total of 427 rooms divided into standard rooms, family rooms, and suites. Within the complex, there is a beautiful outdoor pool area with 3 pools, as well as a garden and a terrace from which one has a fantastic view. Stroll through the hotel's own shops, the casino, and visit the nightclub in the evening. Seven restaurants, 2 buffet restaurants, and 8 bars/lounges (including a pool bar) take care of your physical well-being. Sun loungers, parasols, and pool towels are available free of charge at the pool and on the beach.

Premium Room

The Premium rooms are comfortably furnished (approx. 39 m²) and feature a king-size bed or double bed, bathroom with shower, balcony or terrace, air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat-screen TV, safe, hairdryer, iron & ironing board. Further equipment also includes a coffee maker incl. coffee and tea as well as a minibar with beer, soft drinks, and water (replenished daily) (PR2/PR1). Also bookable as Premium Upper Floor (PUF).

Premium Tropical View

These rooms feature the same equipment, however, you have a dreamlike garden view from the balcony/terrace (PTZ).
Also bookable as Premium Garden Access with direct access to the garden via the terrace (P2G/P1G).

Premium Ocean View

The Premium rooms with sea view have the same equipment, differing only in the sea view that you have from the balcony/terrace (PVO).

These are located in the immediate vicinity of the pool and offer the same equipment as the Premium rooms (NPS).

Two Bedroom Family

The rooms feature the same equipment as the Premium rooms, but have two bedrooms (2FS).

Junior Suite

More spacious than the Premium rooms, with a king-size bed and an additional seating area. Guests enjoy a view of the garden from the balcony (JS2). Also bookable as Junior Suite Upper Floor (C2J).

Family Suite

Consist of 2 double rooms like the family rooms and a shared bathroom with additional amenities: free toys upon arrival, a PlayStation (on request) in the room, and many Star Camp activities. A babysitter service can be used free of charge once per stay (until 10 p.m.) (2MF).

One Bedroom Family Pool Access

The rooms feature the same equipment as the Premium rooms, but are located near the pool (2F1).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, a minimum age of 6 years applies for children when booking these room types at schauinsland-reisen.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds are placed in the room; this means: 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

For active vacation days, the luxury hotel offers you a PADI course (diving school), where you can experience excursions to the most beautiful diving spots, including: underwater caves, coral gardens, the sunken Astron, and depending on the season, you can even listen to the singing of humpback whales underwater. However, you can also play golf on the 18-hole course.

Star Camp: For children, the hotel has 3 children's clubs/mini-clubs. "Monkey" from 4 to 7 years, "Dolphin" from 8 to 12 years, and "Eagle" from 13 to 17 years. There is also a separate pool for children, a playground, as well as a children's menu in the restaurant. Childcare only for a fee.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seagrass and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, there is often an increased appearance of brown algae in the Caribbean. The beach and the sea are affected during this time. The hotel management and local authorities are of course making efforts to clean the affected beach sections in cooperation with the municipal administrations. However, the use of appropriate equipment is necessary for this, which causes a slight noise level.
