Location

The hotel is located amidst subtropical vegetation, directly above the white, fine-sandy Esmeralda Bay, with wonderful sea views. Guardalavaca is approx. 5 km away, Holguin airport approx. 65 km.

Facilities

The resort consists of the Sol Rio de Mares and Sol Rio de Luna hotels. The reception area is open and generously designed with a reception and the 24-hour lobby bar "1492". The hotel has 7 bars, 1 buffet restaurant with an open terrace, 4 à la carte restaurants (Cuban, Italian, Mediterranean, and International. 2 reservations per week included) and the disco in the evening in front of the beach bar "La Nina". Furthermore, the hotel has two freshwater pool areas with a separate children's pool, a swim-up bar and a sun terrace with loungers and umbrellas. The offer is complemented by a boutique, a souvenir shop, 24-hour doctor and laundry service (for a fee). Our guests have full access to the facilities of both hotels.

Accommodation is in spacious rooms at the Sol Rio de Mares or Sol Rio de Luna. These feature a bath/shower, toilet, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, telephone, hairdryer, safety deposit box (rental), and a balcony or terrace.

With the same amenities as the double rooms, these large rooms consist of a living area with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and have a large balcony or terrace, offering side or direct sea views.

Information

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). If occupied by 2 adults + 1-2 children / 3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room. This means occupancy is 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served buffet-style. Gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers for dinner. Snacks, national and international alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (24 hours). All restaurants and bars of the Sol Rio de Luna are also at your disposal (a total choice of 5 restaurants and 7 bars), minibar (water only). Sun loungers, umbrellas, and beach towels at the pool and beach are included.
