Location

The hotel is located north of Cancun, 35 km from Cancun International Airport, just 20 minutes from the city center and only a few minutes from the Punta Sam ferry terminal. Costa Mujeres is known for its calm turquoise waters and white sandy beaches.

The luxury hotel, newly opened in 2019, has 570 rooms. Facilities include 12 bars (including 6 swim-up bars, sports bar, beach bar, sky bar), 7 restaurants (main restaurant, beach restaurant, Japanese, gourmet, Italian, steakhouse, and Mexican), 12 pools (including a pool with a children's area, 7 pools exclusively for Elegance Club guests, 8 of which are heated in winter), 8 outdoor whirlpools integrated into the pool, a theater, a large adults-only area. Umbrellas, sun loungers, and pool towels are included at the pool and beach.

Accommodation

Junior Suite with Jacuzzi

The Junior Suites (58 m²) are located in the Family Section and feature 1 king-size or 2 queen-size beds, open bathroom with bathtub and separate shower/WC, bathrobes/slippers, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, air conditioning, smart TV, safe, coffee machine, minibar (replenished daily with water, soft drinks, beer, and snacks), as well as a balcony with an outdoor Jacuzzi. These have garden or pool views and are located on the 2nd–4th floors (2JZ/1JZ).
(Additionally bookable under CUNA89 with Oceanfront (2JO).

Junior Suite Elegance Club

With the same amenities as the Junior Suite, these rooms are located in the Elegance Club (Adults Only) and additionally feature a private beach & pool area, personalized check-in area, butler service, two exclusive lounges with the option for à-la-carte breakfast and lunch, 1x bottle of champagne upon arrival, premium coffee machine, and an expanded minibar (spirits 1x per stay). Guests can use all facilities of the Family Section (JE2).

Majestic Junior Suite

With the same amenities as the Junior Suite, these are larger (67 m²) and feature a terrace with 2 sun loungers and direct access to the pool (MJ2). Also bookable in the Elegance Club (MJE).
Rooms with direct pool access represent an increased potential hazard for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

One Bedroom Suite

With the same amenities and location as the Junior Suite, these are larger (78 m²) and additionally include a separate living room. (Bookable in the Elegance Club (Adults Only) under the code EQW or in the family area with the code S2.)

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room; this means occupancy is 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner in buffet form. Dinner optionally unlimited in the à-la-carte restaurants (reservation required for Gourmet (18+ only) and Japanese). Various snacks throughout the day. Unlimited national and international (subject to availability) alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (24 hrs) at the various bars.

Sports included

Air-conditioned modern fitness center, water sports such as snorkeling equipment, introductory scuba diving in the pool, windsurfing, catamaran.

Sports for a fee

Water skiing, sailboats, parasailing, banana boat, diving, and deep-sea fishing subject to availability. Several golf courses are located near the hotel (Tom Weiskopf 18-hole in the exclusive area of Puerto Cancun (15 min. away)).

During a stay between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seaweed and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased presence of brown algae in the Caribbean is often recorded during this time. This can affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. This requires the use of appropriate machinery, which may cause a slight background noise.
