The hotel is situated on the idyllic sandy beach of Playacar, located south of Playa del Carmen and approximately 50 minutes from Cancun airport.

The hotel complex has 350 rooms and offers an ideal starting point for exploring the country and its people due to its immediate proximity to Playa del Carmen. Guests can also use the amenities of the neighboring hotel, Tucan. Enjoy the culinary variety of 5 specialty restaurants, as well as four inviting bars. The spacious hotel complex features a large pool landscape, a pool bar (Adults Only), and a restaurant in the pool area. Sun loungers and parasols are included at the pool and beach. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and is included.

Premium Room

The double rooms are equipped with a king-size bed or two double beds and feature air conditioning, a safe, Wi-Fi (included), flat-screen TV, telephone, bathroom with shower, WC, hairdryer, and a balcony or terrace (PR1/PR2/PPR). Can also be booked as a Double Room Near Pool for an additional charge (NPS). Also bookable as a Premium Tropical View (PTZ).

Junior Suite

The junior suites are slightly more spacious, can only be booked with a king-size bed, and offer the same amenities as the double rooms (JS2/KJ1). Can also be booked with an ocean-front view for an additional charge (2JO).

Junior Suite Ocean Front Swim Up

These stylish junior suites on the ground floor offer direct access to the pool from your own terrace. Generously designed (approx. 38 m²) and bookable with a king-size bed or two double beds, they also offer magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea (SUJ). Bookable from Nov 1, 2026.
Rooms with direct pool access present an increased safety risk for young children. For this reason, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types for safety reasons.

Family Room

The family rooms consist of two double rooms with a connecting door and feature the same equipment as the double rooms. One room has a king-size bed and the other has two double beds (DF2).

Premium Near Beach

These rooms are renovated and are located near the beach and pool (BPN).

One bedroom Family (CUN207I)

Modern, family-friendly rooms with a view of the surrounding tropical vegetation. Natural materials and thoughtful details create a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Family-oriented amenities include a bunk bed and a sofa (not a sofa bed) (2FP).

Junior Suite Ocean Front Beach Access

The suites have the same equipment as the other suites but are just a few steps away from the beach (JFF).

Penthouse Suite Ocean Front (CUN207I)

Spacious and elegantly designed suites in a prime location on the upper floor with a direct view of the Caribbean Sea. The expansive terrace invites you to relax and is complemented by a private whirlpool, offering additional comfort and privacy. The stylish amenities include a bedroom with a king-size bed and another bedroom with two double beds. Furthermore, a separate living area, a dining room, and an independent kitchenette are available (OX2/OX1).

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two double beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room; occupancy means 2 persons per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Smoking ban

Smoking is prohibited in all public places in Mexico. This also applies to public transport, beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. Violations may be punishable by fines or imprisonment.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, an increased occurrence of seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased appearance of brown algae in the Caribbean is often recorded. This can affect the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, striving to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. This requires the use of appropriate machinery, which may cause a slight noise level.
