Travel information

Combination package consisting of a Nile cruise on the MS Lady Carol and a beach holiday, including all connecting transfers. Accommodation at the hotel is always provided in the most reasonably priced available room category. If the Nile cruise is booked first, the arrival flight must be to Luxor. If the hotel is booked first and the Nile cruise afterwards, the return flight must be from Luxor.

Notice

The travel package you have selected has a duration of 10 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always provided for seven days according to the program. The pre-cruise and post-cruise stay at the hotel depends on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

The itinerary may change depending on the day of embarkation.
Itinerary:
1st Day:
Arrival and embarkation. In the afternoon, visit the Luxor Museum (3). Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
2nd Day:
Tour of the East Bank in Luxor. At 5 a.m., hot air balloon trip (optional, can be booked on-site).
Breakfast, tour of the East Bank, including Karnak and Luxor Temple (1,2,3).
Lunch on board.
Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
3rd Day:
Tour of the West Bank. In the morning after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Temple of Hatshepsut (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Late evening departure for Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
4th Day:
Continue sailing from Esna.
Then continue to Aswan, where the overnight stay takes place.
Lunch, dinner, and overnight stay on board.
5th Day:
In the morning after breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam and the Old Dam in Aswan (1,2,3).
Then visit the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon felucca ride on the Nile (1,2,3).
Afterward, opportunity to visit a Nubian village with the desert on one side and the Nile on the other (3).
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
6th Day:

The ship features a friendly reception and a total of 72 beautiful outside cabins spread over several decks. The main restaurant provides delicious meals for your enjoyment. The facilities are complemented by a cozy lounge bar. A small bazaar invites you to browse and explore. On the spacious sun deck, you will find a large pool and a bar. The economy cabins (EK2) are equipped like the standard cabins, but are located on the lower decks and feature a small porthole.

The sprawling resort is located directly on the hotel's own sand/shingle beach (bathing shoes recommended) and is only approx. 40 km from Marsa Alam airport.
Thanks to the gently shelving beach, you have the option of a relaxing beach holiday. Furthermore, a long jetty leads directly into deeper water, from where you can discover the beautiful and impressive underwater world of the Red Sea. The beach offers the best conditions for snorkeling and diving.

Facilities

The large, newly opened hotel complex consists of 514 rooms. The comfortably and charmingly furnished resort features a reception, several shops, an amphitheater, various bars, two buffet restaurants ("El Khan" - Oriental, "Soprano Restaurant" - international cuisine), an à-la-carte restaurant ("Shell Fish" - seafood, once per stay, with reservation), two snack restaurants, various bars, and a café, The Bakery.
In the spacious outdoor area, there are 12 swimming pools (three of which are heated in winter) and 3 children's pools (two of which can be heated in winter). The newly built Aqua Park with 32 water slides (11 for adults and 21 for children; partially heated in winter) offers fun for all ages.
Sun loungers, parasols, cushions, and towels are available free of charge by the pool and on the beach.
Guests of the "Pickalbatros Portofino Villaggio" can use all facilities of the sister hotel "Pickalbatros Portofino Vita" (RMF116).

The modern double Superior rooms (DSU, approx. 42-45 m²) are equipped with a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.
For an additional charge, also bookable with pool view (DSP) or sea view (DMU).

Family room Deluxe garden view

The modern rooms (2FS, approx. 70 m²) consist of a bedroom with a king-size bed and a bedroom with single beds and a sofa bed, equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.

Royal Suite Swim Up pool view

The Royal Suites (SWP) are approx. 105 m² and feature a bathroom/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, minibar (water included), safe, kettle, telephone (for a fee), TV, and terrace with direct access to the communal swim-up pool. The rooms have two bedrooms.
(Additional quota bookable under RMFA49 as Royal Suite type B (RZ3)).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access present an increased safety risk for young children.
Therefore, for security reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Double room Deluxe (RMFA49)

The double rooms Deluxe correspond in size and features to the double rooms (DD2). Also bookable with pool view (DBP) and sea view (DDM).

Bungalow Deluxe sea view (RMFA49)

The bungalows Deluxe have a size of approx. 35 m² and are equipped with air conditioning, bathroom with shower or bathtub/WC, flat-screen TV, balcony or terrace, and have sea view (2BM).

Superior Bungalow sea view (RMFA49)

The superior bungalows are similar in their facilities to the bungalows Deluxe, but are larger at approx. 45 m² (2UB).
