Location

The resort is located on the eastern outer reef of the North Ari Atoll and is only approx. 300 x 150 m in size. The house reef is approx. 20-40 m from the beach. The transfer time from Male international airport is approx. 90 minutes by speedboat. Transfer information for Sandies Bathala, Speedboat: Operated for arrivals before 3:00 PM / departures after 10:00 AM. Transfer by seaplane (approx. 15 minutes) can be booked at an additional cost.

Facilities

The small, simply furnished barefoot island, which is equally popular with divers and snorkelers, features 70 rooms, including 46 beach bungalows and 24 water villas, which are spread across the entire island. Furthermore, the resort has a reception, a boutique, a buffet restaurant with international cuisine, an à la carte evening dining on the beach "The Beach Grill" with various grilled dishes, as well as an island bar. Sun loungers and beach towels are available free of charge on the beach and by the pool.

Beach Bungalow

The bright rooms feature a bathroom with double vanity, open-air shower/WC, individually adjustable air conditioning, ceiling fan, telephone, safe, mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, and a furnished veranda with direct access to the beach (SBZ).

Water Villa

The Water Villas are built on stilts over the sea and, with the same furnishings as the Beach Bungalows, additionally feature a furnished terrace with direct sea access (W2V).

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner in buffet form at the "Island Gallery" restaurant. Afternoon American coffee/tea and snacks in the main restaurant. Selected local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from 10:00 AM to midnight at the bar; a selection of cocktails and spirits are served at the beach bar from 6:00 PM. Snorkeling equipment and guided tours to the house reef are included.

Speedboat: Operated for expected arrivals/departures from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM // Domestic flight: Operated for expected arrivals/departures from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM // Seaplane: Operated for expected arrivals/departures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 intermediate stops during seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Male must be booked in advance. The costs for this must be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or longer waiting times at immigration (in this case, our local agency will take care of any necessary overnight stay).
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the location of the island), as well as currently most domestic flights, only operate during daylight hours. Therefore, an overnight stay in Male may be required.
