Location

The family-run, lovingly managed Amnissos Residence Hotel is located in the village of Pigianos Kampos, approximately 150 m from the sand/pebble beach (natural beach; water shoes recommended; at the "Paraplous" tavern; a road must be crossed; food and drinks there are for a fee). A complimentary shuttle to the beach is available upon request (please contact reception).
Some shopping and entertainment options can be found in the immediate vicinity. The port city of Rethymnon, with its beautiful old town and magnificent avenues, is only about 8 km away, and a bus stop is located in front of the hotel. Heraklion Airport is approximately 75 km away.

The village-style Schauinsland-Reisen Original hotel was renovated in many areas by summer 2023. It features 87 rooms spread across a main building and several bungalow buildings, offering a 24-hour reception, lobby, luggage storage, Wi-Fi (included throughout the resort), and the "Olive Tree" buffet restaurant.
A highlight is the rooftop bar "Open Sky," newly built in 2023, which invites guests to enjoy a cocktail in the evening with a beautiful view. The hotel's well-maintained grounds include a swimming pool with an integrated children's pool and a renovated sun terrace, which invites you to linger with gazebos, poufs, and comfortable sun loungers. The tropical "Tropical" shisha bar by the main pool also provides refreshments (shisha for a fee).
Sun loungers and umbrellas are included at the pool and the beach (at the "Paraplous" tavern; the tavern is for a fee). Beach towels are available for a deposit. Parking at the hotel is included subject to availability.
Valid for Summer 2027:
From summer 2027, the newly built "Diamond Spirit" area offers additional amenities. A successful combination of modern and traditional Cretan elements, warm colors, olive trees, sand underfoot, and fragrant herb beds create a holiday atmosphere. A total of 147 rooms will then be available. All guests will be warmly welcomed in the expanded lobby area with a 24-hour reception. The new, modern "Olive Tree" restaurant offers ample space, live cooking stations, and varied buffets with Cretan and Greek dishes, as well as international influences. The "Theros" bar attached to the restaurant provides refreshments by the pool. The previous restaurant is now available as the "Meli&Thymari" à-la-carte restaurant and offers authentic Cretan dishes. In the new outdoor area, a pool stretches around the new building and invites guests to swim laps (the pool has no interruptions; you can swim through under the bridges; the pool can be used by all room types). All ground-floor rooms offer a terrace with private sun loungers and direct access to the pool. For rooms on the 1st floor, comfortable sun loungers and Bali beds are available around the pool.
Above the new buffet restaurant, the "Ammos&Nostos" lounge deck awaits guests looking for peace and quiet, with magnificent views and cozy furniture. Yoga classes are also offered in the adjacent "VistaFit" outdoor fitness area with state-of-the-art equipment.
A central point between the two hotel parts is the new, typical Cretan "Rodaria" kafeneio. A meeting place to enjoy Greek coffee, raki, and light meze dishes during nice conversations.
A special highlight is the new "Elaia" area – a place to feel good under shade-giving olive trees, with loungers to relax, hammocks to dream, and six whirlpools.
A newly built paddle court provides sporty variety.

Located in the hotel's main building, the double rooms feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, bathroom amenities, telephone, LCD satellite TV, Wi-Fi (incl.), individually adjustable air conditioning, safe (included), mini-fridge (can be used as a minibar upon request, restocking for a fee), coffee/tea making facilities (daily replenishment), and a balcony or terrace (D/DI). A bottle of water in the room upon arrival.

These rooms were newly built in winter 2021/2022 and offer more modern furnishings (2BD).

These feature the same amenities as the double rooms, are renovated, and located on the upper or lower floor of the bungalow buildings with a whirlpool on the terrace (2CW).

The whirlpool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We request prudent behavior and special attention when using this area.

Bungalow Swim-Up

The rooms are located on the first floor in the new Diamond Spirit area and feature a shower, separate WC, and a furnished terrace. They are equipped with a 52-inch Smart TV, individually adjustable air conditioning, safe, Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffee machine (daily replenishment), tea maker (daily replenishment), mini-fridge (replenished daily with one large or two small bottles of water), hairdryer, and bathroom amenities. Once per stay, guests can enjoy a private breakfast in the room (included).

Double room Whirlpool (from 2027)

With the same amenities as the Double room pool view and also located in the Diamond Spirit area, these rooms feature a whirlpool on the spacious balcony and are additionally equipped with bathrobes.

Double room Executive Swim-Up (from 2027)

These rooms are located on the ground floor of the new Diamond Spirit area and are surrounded by a lagoon-style pool landscape. Bridges connect the accommodations to the opposite side, where olive trees and sand harmonize the ambiance. With the same amenities as the Double room pool view, these are additionally equipped with bathrobes. Once per stay (min. 6 nights), guests can enjoy a floating breakfast in the lagoon pool (on request min. 2 days in advance at reception).

In addition to the "Tropical" and "Open Sky" bars, the new "Theros" bar is available from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. (All Inclusive until 11 p.m., open until 1 a.m.).
The hotel supports local Cretan companies for beverages and values regional products.
