Location

The family-run Paralos Irini Mare hotel enjoys a beautiful, quiet location nestled between gently sloping hills, surrounded by magnificent countryside, situated above a small bathing cove with a wonderful sea view and approximately 100m from the Blue Flag beach. The picturesque village of Agia Galini, with its many tavernas, cafes, and narrow streets inviting you to stroll, is just a ten-minute walk away. The distance to Heraklion Airport is approx. 77 km.

This very warmly and thoughtfully managed complex, with a total of 152 rooms, consists of a main building and 15 outbuildings spread across a beautifully landscaped, large garden. It offers guests a reception hall with a German and English speaking 24-hour reception, the "Galini Lobby Bar," which features a balcony with a stunning view over the bay and the sea as well as the village of Agia Galini, the pool bar located in the shade of palm trees and ideal for a sundowner, a luggage room, a small library, and free, camera-monitored parking. Wi-Fi is included throughout the complex.
The modern and freshly renovated non-smoking buffet restaurant with 3 show-cooking stations, featuring an outdoor terrace with olive trees, palm trees, and fragrant shrubs, invites you to linger. In 2024, the à la carte restaurant "Tomatini" opened its doors, where dishes are prepared with home-grown vegetables and served as a set menu based on Greek and Cretan cuisine.
The well-kept garden boasts over 50 different species of herbs, flowers, and trees, providing a glimpse into Crete's flora. The tea corner at the breakfast buffet is stocked with fresh herbs from the Cretan botanical garden, including local mountain tea, thyme, oregano, and lavender. Fruits and vegetables are sourced from the Messara region, which includes Agia Galini, known for its cultivation. Furthermore, the hotel also has its own fruit orchard and olive groves with seasonal cultivation, located near the UNESCO World Heritage site "Phaistos."
Around the three large semi-saltwater swimming pools (one with a whirlpool, one as a relaxation pool with an infinity view of Agia Galini), you'll find palm, olive, and carob trees. One pool is enriched with magnesium, which is particularly beneficial for hair, skin, and overall health. Additionally, there is a children's pool in the garden area, as well as a pool bar with a sun terrace and lawn. The pools are cleaned on an ecological basis using a salt electrolysis system. Sun loungers, gazebos, and pool towels are provided free of charge. Sun loungers at the beach are available for a fee through local providers.
Out of respect for the natural beauty of the landscape, sun umbrellas are largely omitted at Paralos Irini Mare. Instead, you can enjoy the natural shade of the palm and acacia trees that have grown here since the hotel's opening.

Experience the Double Rooms Superior in a modern retro design.
The furnishings are based on natural color tones and materials. These spacious rooms feature a bathroom or shower/WC with hairdryer and toiletries, full-length mirror and cosmetic mirror, pillow selection, electronic safe (included), mini-fridge, coffee and tea station, kettle, 1 bottle of water in the room on arrival, individually adjustable air conditioning, telephone, 42" LED TV, Wi-Fi (included), and a balcony or terrace with garden/mountain view (DSU: max. 3 people with 2 single beds and a sofa bed if needed). Family Room

The family rooms, with the same amenities as the double rooms, feature a separate bedroom divided by a door, with 2 single beds or two sofa beds (DF2). Optionally available with sea view for an extra charge (F2M).
Also bookable as a more spacious suite with one bedroom (2FS). Alternatively, bookable with a connecting door and sea view (FAV/MFV).

The rooms, decorated in a fresh design, feature individually adjustable air conditioning, bathroom with shower/WC, toiletries, hairdryer, full-length mirror and cosmetic mirror, coffee machine (four capsules included on arrival), coffee/tea station, kettle, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, 42-inch LED TV, electronic safe, mini-fridge, a bottle of water in the room on arrival, pillow selection, and a terrace with gazebos or loungers and direct access to the shared pool (J2/JSI). Pool towels are provided in the room.

These rooms have the same high-quality amenities as the Junior Suites, plus pool towels, and offer a private pool with a terrace and loungers (ZJP). Also available with sea view (SI2), bookable on request.

Junior Suite Chill

The Junior Suites "Chill" are located on the ground floor and are furnished with warm, natural colors and materials. Each room has its own private garden with loungers and a cozy hammock.
These spacious rooms feature two single beds, a sofa, a hanging seat in the room, a functional bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer and toiletries, a full-length mirror and cosmetic mirror, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, 42-inch satellite TV, an electronic safe in the room, individually adjustable air conditioning, a mini-fridge, coffee and tea station, pillow selection, 1 bottle of water in the room on arrival (NC2/NCI, 1 room).

Junior Suite Star Sleep Rooftop Sea View

The Junior Suites Star Sleep Rooftop with sea view offer a wonderful retreat with a private rooftop terrace, accessible via a private staircase. Here, a cozy daybed, an outdoor shower, and a seating area invite you to relax. With amenities otherwise identical to the Double Rooms Superior, these rooms feature a combined living/sleeping area with twin beds and a sofa bed or armchair, and are more spacious. Additionally, these rooms have roof ventilation, central air conditioning/heating, a Nespresso coffee machine (4 capsules included on arrival), and offer sea views (JMA/JMI).

Junior Suite Private Garden Sea View Plunge Pool

With the same amenities as the Junior Suite, these rooms offer a private garden with a comfortable hammock, seating area, outdoor shower, gazebo, and a private plunge pool (QA2).
The plunge pool is not supervised by a lifeguard. Therefore, please be particularly mindful of your children when using this area and behave responsibly.

Blue Junior Suite Private Pool Sea View

With the same amenities as the Junior Suite, these rooms feature a private garden pool, an outdoor shower, a sun deck with loungers and seating area (L2J, bookable for guests aged 8 and over).

Suite Private Pool (bookable on request)

The Suite with private pool has the same amenities as the Junior Suite Private Pool and consists of a separate bedroom, living room, private pool, and terrace with mountain views (SP2).
Also available with sea view (IP2), bookable on request.

Half Board

At Paralos Irini Mare, tradition and good food are paramount! Since 2021, the kitchen has been working with the support of the renowned Greek chef Giannis Baxevanis. They exclusively use local Cretan and Greek products to bring healthy, delicious, and authentic Cretan cuisine from their gardens to the table. At Paralos Irini Mare, cooking is done only with local olive oil from the hotel's groves near the archaeological palace of Festos. So, enjoy your dinner and get a taste of typical Cretan cuisine.
The extensive breakfast buffet (7:30 AM - 10:30 AM) is freshly prepared before your eyes and delights you with freshly squeezed juices from seasonal fruits (freshly harvested, subject to availability, e.g., oranges, figs, pomegranates, and loquats from the hotel's groves) as well as waffles and eggs in various preparations and Greek specialties. Upon request and pre-order, a continental early bird breakfast is available from 0:00 AM to 7:15 AM.
Dinner is served buffet-style from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM with 3 show-cooking stations, where diverse meals are prepared using fresh, regional ingredients.
Vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free options are also available (upon request on-site).
Additionally, there is a choice of lunch menus (12:00 PM - 3:30 PM) by the pool with healthy snacks and modern twists on Greek dishes (for a surcharge).
Guests also have access to the à la carte restaurant "Tomatini," which offers traditional Greek and Cretan dishes. Guests can choose from various menus. "Tomatini" exclusively uses local products and vegetables from the hotel's own garden. Once a week, dinner at the à la carte restaurant is included (7:00 PM - 10:00 PM, reservation required upon arrival, latest reservation by 9:00 PM).

Table tennis, modern gym with high-quality Matrix equipment (for guests aged 18 and over), and outdoor fitness area. Fitness classes are held several times a week.

Note for Climate Resilience Levy
