The family-run Hotel Paralos Irini Mare enjoys a beautiful, tranquil location amidst gently rolling hills, surrounded by stunning scenery, situated above a small bay with wonderful sea views and approximately 100m from the Blue Flag beach. The picturesque village of Agia Galini with its many tavernas, cafes, and narrow streets inviting you to stroll is just a ten-minute walk away. The distance to Heraklion Airport is approx. 77 km.

This very warmly and thoughtfully managed complex, with a total of 152 rooms, consists of a main building and 15 outbuildings spread throughout the beautifully landscaped, large garden. It offers guests a reception area with a 24-hour reception service (staff speak German and English), the 'Galini Lobby Bar' with a balcony offering magnificent views over the bay and the sea as well as the village of Agia Galini, a pool bar located in the shade of palm trees and ideal for a sundowner, a luggage room, a small library, and free, video-monitored parking. Wi-Fi is available throughout the complex free of charge.
The modern and freshly renovated non-smoking buffet restaurant with 3 show cooking stations, featuring an outdoor terrace with olive trees, palm trees, and fragrant shrubs, invites you to linger. In 2024, the à la carte restaurant 'Tomatini' opened its doors, serving dishes prepared with home-grown vegetables, offered as a set menu based on Greek and Cretan cuisine.
The well-kept garden features over 50 different species of herbs, flowers, and trees, offering a glimpse into the flora of Crete. The tea corner at the breakfast buffet is stocked with fresh herbs from the Cretan botanical garden, including local mountain tea, thyme, oregano, and lavender. Fruits and vegetables are sourced from the Messara region, which includes Agia Galini, known for its produce. Additionally, the hotel has its own orchard and olive groves with seasonal cultivation, located near the UNESCO World Heritage site of 'Phaistos'.
Around the three large semi-saltwater swimming pools (one with a whirlpool, one as a quiet pool with an infinity view of Agia Galini) are palm, olive, and carob trees. One pool is enriched with magnesium, which is particularly beneficial for hair, skin, and health. There is also a children's pool in the garden area, as well as a pool bar with a sun terrace and lawn. The pools are cleaned on an ecological basis using a salt electrolysis system. Sun loungers, gazebos, and pool towels are available here free of charge. Sun loungers on the beach are available for a fee through local providers.
Out of respect for the natural beauty of the landscape, Paralos Irini Mare predominantly avoids parasols. Instead, you can enjoy the natural shade provided by the palm and acacia trees that have been growing here since the hotel's opening.
Schauinsland-Reisen Insider Tip: Next to the large, approximately 200-year-old olive tree, an outdoor fitness area integrated into nature has been created.

Superior Double Room

Experience the Superior Double Rooms in modern retro design.
The decor is based on natural color tones and materials. These spacious rooms feature a bathroom or shower/WC with hairdryer and toiletries, full-length mirror and cosmetic mirror, pillow selection, electronic safe (included), mini-fridge, coffee and tea station, electric kettle, 1 bottle of water in the room upon arrival, individually controlled air conditioning, telephone, 42" LED TV, Wi-Fi (included), and a balcony or terrace with garden/mountain view (DSU: max. 3 people occupancy with 2 single beds and a sofa bed if needed). Also available for single occupancy (DSE/1DS).

The attractively furnished rooms have a tasteful decor with bath or shower/WC, toiletries, full-length mirror and cosmetic mirror, hairdryer, electronic safe (included), 42-inch LED TV, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, individually controlled air conditioning, mini-fridge (with coffee and tea station, one bottle of water in the room upon arrival), pillow selection, and a balcony or terrace with sea view (DMU/DIM, max. 3 people occupancy: 2 single beds and a sofa bed if needed).

Family Room

In addition to the same amenities as the double rooms, the family rooms have a separate bedroom separated by a door, with 2 single beds or two sofa beds (DF2). Optionally available with sea view at an extra charge (F2M).

The rooms with their fresh design feature individually controlled air conditioning, bathroom with shower/WC, toiletries, hairdryer, full-length mirror and cosmetic mirror, coffee machine (four capsules included on arrival), coffee/tea station, electric kettle, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, 42-inch LED TV, electronic safe, mini-fridge, one bottle of water in the room upon arrival, pillow selection, and a terrace with gazebos or loungers and direct access to the sharing pool (J2/JSI). Pool towels are provided in the room.

Junior Suite Private Pool

These rooms feature the same high-quality amenities as the Junior Suites, but also include pool towels, a private pool with a terrace and loungers (ZJP). Also available with sea view (SI2) upon request.
The Junior Suites with pool are only bookable for guests aged 8 and over.

Junior Suite Chill

The Junior Suites "Chill" are located on the ground floor and are furnished with warm, natural colors and materials. Each room has its own private garden with loungers and a cozy hammock.
These spacious rooms feature two single beds, a sofa, a hanging chair in the room, a functional bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer and toiletries, a full-length mirror and cosmetic mirror, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, 42-inch satellite TV, an electronic safe in the room, individually controlled air conditioning, a mini-fridge, coffee and tea station, pillow selection, 1 bottle of water in the room upon arrival (NC2/NCI, 1 room).

Junior Suite Star Sleep Rooftop Sea View

The new Junior Suites Star Sleep Rooftop with sea view offer a wonderful retreat with a private rooftop terrace, accessible via a private staircase. Here, a cozy daybed, an outdoor shower, and a seating area invite relaxation. With all other amenities similar to the Superior Double Rooms, these rooms feature a combined living/sleeping area with twin beds and a sofa bed or armchair, and are more spacious. Additionally, these rooms have roof ventilation, central air conditioning/heating, and a Nespresso coffee machine (4 capsules included on arrival), offering sea views (JMA/JMI).

Junior Suite Sea View Plunge Pool

These also new rooms offer, with the same amenities as the Junior Suite, a private garden with a cozy hammock, seating area, outdoor shower, gazebo, and a private plunge pool (B2J).
The plunge pool is not supervised by a lifeguard. Please therefore pay special attention to your children when using this area and behave responsibly.

Blue Junior Suite Private Pool Sea View

The new Blue Junior Suites feature, with the same amenities as the Junior Suite, a private pool in the garden, an outdoor shower, a sun deck with loungers and a seating area (L2J, bookable from 8 years old).
The private pool is not supervised by a lifeguard. Please therefore pay special attention to your children when using this area and behave responsibly.

Suite Private Pool (bookable on request)

The Suite with private pool has the same amenities as the Junior Suite Private Pool and consists of a separate bedroom, living room, private pool, and terrace with mountain view (SP2).
Also available with sea view (IP2), also bookable on request.

Half Board / All Inclusive Plus

At Paralos Irini Mare, tradition and excellent food are paramount! Since 2021, the kitchen has been supported by the renowned Greek chef Giannis Baxevanis. They use only local Cretan and Greek products to bring healthy, delicious, and authentic Cretan cuisine from their gardens to the table. Paralos Irini Mare cooks exclusively with local olive oil from the hotel's groves near the archaeological palace of Festos. So, enjoy your dinner and experience a taste of typical Cretan cuisine.
The extensive breakfast buffet (7:30-10:30 AM) is prepared fresh before your eyes and delights you with freshly squeezed juices from seasonal fruits (freshly harvested, subject to availability, e.g., oranges, figs, pomegranates, and medlars from the hotel's groves) as well as smoothies, honeycombs, waffles, and eggs in various preparations, and Greek specialties. Upon request and pre-order, a continental early bird breakfast is available from 0:00 to 7:15 AM.
Dinner is served from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM as a buffet with 3 show cooking stations where diverse meals are prepared from fresh, regional ingredients.
Vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free options are also available (upon request on site).
Additionally, there is a choice of à la carte lunch (12:00 PM - 3:30 PM) by the pool with healthy snacks and Greek dishes with a modern twist (for an additional charge).
The à la carte restaurant "Tomatini" is also available to guests, offering traditional Greek and Cretan dishes. Guests can choose from various menus. At "Tomatini," exclusively local products and vegetables from the hotel's own garden are used. Once a week, dinner at the à la carte restaurant is included (7:00 PM - 10:00 PM, reservation required upon arrival, latest reservation by 8:00 PM).

All Inclusive

All Inclusive Plus

The All-Inclusive program at Paralos Irini Mare offers more than just comfort; it invites you on an authentic journey into Cretan and Greek gastronomy.
From 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM, the day begins with a rich breakfast buffet with live cooking. A continental breakfast is available from 7:00 AM (an earlier breakfast is possible with advance notice the day before). During lunchtime from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, light à la carte dishes or buffet options are available at the pool bar. Dinner in the main restaurant is also served as a buffet from 7:00 PM to 9:15 PM, with three show cooking stations where varied dishes are prepared from fresh, regional ingredients.
Optionally, dinner can be enjoyed once every 7 days of your stay at the à la carte restaurant "Tomatini" (7:00 PM - 10:00 PM, reservation required, latest reservation by 8:00 PM).
For lunch and dinner, still and sparkling water, a select wine list, Greek draft beers, soft drinks, natural juices, and a selection of non-alcoholic options are included.
The pool bar offers from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM a wide selection of coffee varieties, cocoa, homemade iced tea, a colorful selection of teas including Cretan mountain tea and fresh mint tea, juices and juice spritzers, other soft drinks and water, Greek draft beer, non-alcoholic beer, an excellent selection of about 20 cocktails, mocktails, and kids' cocktails, spirits such as Metaxa, Ouzo, Tequila, Jim Beam, Baileys, Amaretto, Otto's Greek Vermouth, Raki, at least 2 types of whiskey, gin, rum, vodka, and Martini, as well as wines (red, white, rosé, sparkling) here. Additionally, you can end the day from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM in the lobby bar with the aforementioned cocktails, spirits, wines, and refreshing non-alcoholic cocktails.

Information on Climate Resilience Levy

For stays from 01.01.2018 onwards, the Greek government levies a climate resilience tax, payable by the guest locally, comparable to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and, from 01.01.2025, will be tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day per room.
