Location

The Mare Monte is located directly on the gently shelving, Blue Flag awarded, kilometer-long sandy beach. The resort town of Georgioupolis with its typical tavernas, cafés, and shops of all kinds is approx. 1 km away.
The famous Lake Kournas is the only natural freshwater lake on the Greek island of Crete and can be reached as an excursion destination in approx. 6 km.
Chania Airport is approx. 45 km away, and Heraklion Airport is approx. 110 km away.

Facilities

The family-friendly complex has 200 rooms and offers a 24-hour reception, lobby, luggage storage, hotel safe (for a fee), elevator, internet corner (included), restaurant (Greek and international cuisine), à la carte snack bar (for a fee), bar, mini market with souvenir shop, and a boutique. In the well-kept outdoor area, there is a swimming pool with a separate children's pool, a sun terrace, and an amphitheater. Sun loungers and umbrellas are included at the pool and on the beach. Bath towels are included and can be changed every 3rd day.
Wi-Fi is included throughout the entire complex as well as in the rooms.

Double Room

The pleasantly furnished double rooms feature a bathtub or shower/WC, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning, telephone, rental safe, 32'' LCD TV, mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (D/DB).
Also available as a slightly larger double room with higher occupancy with additional single beds or bunk beds (DA).

Single Room

Features the same equipment as the double rooms, but is slightly smaller (E).

Breakfast (7-10 am), lunch (12:45-2:30 pm), and dinner (7-9:30 pm) in buffet style with show cooking. Drinks are served with meals. Theme evenings take place several times (3x per week).
Early bird and late riser breakfast available on request.
Optionally, lunch can also be taken at the snack bar in buffet style (less selection than in the main restaurant; only possible mid-May to mid-September) or à la carte for a fee.
Various snacks are offered from 10 am to 6 pm; fruits, cakes, and pastries from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks by the glass such as water, soft drinks, fruit juices, coffee (filter coffee, Greek coffee, espresso, and cappuccino), tea, local beer, house wine, Ouzo, Raki, whiskey, gin, rum, vodka, tequila, long drinks, and cocktails are included from 10 am to 12 am at the respectively open bar.

Destination information - Climate Resilience Levy

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and has been staggered from January 1, 2025, from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room.
