Location

The Mare Monte is located directly on a long, gently sloping, kilometer-long sandy beach that has been awarded the "Blue Flag". The resort town of Georgioupolis, with its typical tavernas, cafés, and various shops, is approximately 1 km away.
The famous Kournas Lake, the only natural freshwater lake on the Greek island of Crete, is an excursion destination located approximately 6 km away.
Chania Airport is approximately 45 km away, and Heraklion Airport is approximately 110 km away.

Facilities

The family-friendly complex has 200 rooms and features a 24-hour reception, lobby, luggage storage, hotel safe (for a fee), lift, internet corner (included), restaurant (serving Greek and international cuisine), à la carte snack bar (for a fee), bar, mini-market with souvenir shop, and a boutique. The well-maintained outdoor area includes a swimming pool with a separate children's pool, a sun terrace, and an amphitheater. Sun loungers and parasols are included by the pool and on the beach. Pool towels are included and can be changed every third day.
Wi-Fi is included throughout the complex and in the rooms.

Double room

The pleasantly furnished double rooms feature a bathtub or shower/WC, hairdryer, individually adjustable air conditioning, telephone, rental safe, 32'' LCD TV, mini-fridge, and a balcony or terrace (D/DB).
Optionally bookable as a slightly larger double room with higher occupancy, featuring additional single beds or a bunk bed (DA).

Single room

Feature the same facilities as the double rooms but are somewhat smaller (E).

Breakfast (7:00-10:00), lunch (12:45-14:30), and dinner (19:00-21:30) in buffet style with show cooking. Drinks are served with meals. Themed evenings are held multiple times (3x per week).

Alternatively, lunch can be taken as a buffet at the snack bar (less variety than the main restaurant; only available mid-May to mid-September) or à la carte for a fee.
Various snacks are offered from 10:00 to 18:00, and fruit, cake, and pastries are available from 16:00 to 18:00.
Local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks by the glass such as water, soft drinks, fruit juices, coffee (filter coffee, Greek coffee, espresso, and cappuccino), tea, local beer, house wine, ouzo, raki, whiskey, gin, rum, vodka, tequila, long drinks, and cocktails are included from 10:00 to 00:00 at the respective bar currently open.

Information regarding climate resilience fee

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and, as of January 1, 2025, ranges from 0.50 euros to 15 euros per day and room.
For stays in the high season (April 1 – October 31):
Local category 1-2 Stars: 2 euros
Local category 3 Stars: 5 euros
Local category 4 Stars: 10 euros
Local category 5 Stars: 15 euros
For stays in the low season (November 1 – March 31):
