Location

The hotel is located in a quiet area, approx. 200 m from the centre of Gouves. The public sandy beach is approx. 100 m away and separated only by a small coastal road. Shopping and entertainment options are located nearby. A bus stop is approx. 300 m from the hotel. Heraklion airport is approx. 14 km away.

Facilities

This beautiful, family-run hotel was renovated in 2023/2024 and features 173 rooms distributed across 9 buildings, each with 1 or 2 floors. It offers a 24-hour reception with a lobby, a restaurant, a snack bar, "Mama Magda" (pizza, waffles, sandwiches, and more), an internet corner, Wi-Fi (included in rooms and public areas), a children's playground, and a children's clubhouse (with animation). Outside, there are 4 outdoor pools (2 on the ground floor, 1 on the ground floor with a whirlpool, and 1 on the roof), a children's pool, and an indoor pool (heated during cool days in April, May, and October). There is also a garden, a sun terrace, and sunbathing lawns. Sun loungers and parasols are included at the pool. Other facilities include an amphitheater with a bar (open during some evening shows) and a 4000 m² athletic center.

Double room

All rooms are comfortably furnished and feature a bath or shower/WC, hairdryer, HD satellite TV, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, air conditioning, mini-fridge (included), rental safe, coffee/tea maker (refilled daily and included), as well as a balcony or terrace (D). Complimentary bottle of water upon arrival.

Single room

These are smaller than the double rooms but offer the same amenities and feature a single bed (DE).

Superior double room

These feature the same amenities as the double rooms, include a shower/WC, and were renovated in 2024 (DSU).

Deluxe double room

Deluxe rooms offer the same amenities and size as the double rooms but are more modern. They feature a bathroom with a walk-in rain shower, a full-length mirror, a 49" HD Smart TV, and a larger balcony/terrace (DD2).

Premium double room with outdoor whirlpool

The Premium rooms, newly built in summer 2024, are located on the first floor and feature the same amenities as the Deluxe double rooms, with the addition of a separate WC and a spacious balcony with a whirlpool (G2J).
The whirlpool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We ask for careful behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased safety risk for small children.
Therefore, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booking these room types for safety reasons.

Premium double room swim-up

These rooms, also newly built in summer 2024, are located on the ground floor and feature the same amenities as the Deluxe double rooms, plus a separate WC, a spacious terrace, and direct access to a sharing pool (SWD).
The swim-up pool is not monitored by a lifeguard. We ask for careful behavior and special attention when using this area.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased safety risk for small children.
Therefore, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children booking these room types for safety reasons.

Note on climate resilience fee

For stays starting from January 1, 2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and has been tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 Euro per day and room since January 1, 2025.
