Completely renovated in winter 19/20, the Iberostar Selection Bavaro consists of 598 rooms that leave nothing to be desired. They are spread across several two-story bungalows within the tropical hotel grounds. Furthermore, the hotel features a lobby with a reception, a buffet restaurant, 6 à-la-carte restaurants (Greek, gourmet restaurant, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and steakhouse), a beach restaurant, 5 bars, a swim-up bar, a garden area with a lagoon-style pool landscape, a sun terrace, and a snack bar.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suites feature a sleeping and living area with a sofa bed, coffee/tea maker, minibar, air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, and balcony or terrace (JS2/JS1/KJ1/KJ2). Also bookable as an Oceanfront Junior Suite (2JO) and in winter as a super-saver room (SSZ/SSE).

Junior Suite Tropical View

With the same amenities and size as the Junior Suites, these are located closer to the sea and also offer a turndown service (once per stay), garden or pool view (PTZ). Also bookable closer to the pool as a Junior Suite Near Pool (NPS). Also bookable closer to the beach as a Junior Suite Near Beach (JNB) or in the first beach row with sea view as a Junior Suite Ocean Front (2JO).

Family Suite

With otherwise the same amenities and size as the Junior Suites, these consist of two Junior Suites with a connecting door (2FS/KF3/KF5/KF6).

Spa Junior Suite

With the same amenities and size as the Junior Suites with a king-size bed or two double beds, tea set, bathrobes (J2F).

Junior Suite Pool Access

With the same amenities as the Junior Suite, these rooms feature a terrace and are located directly by the pool (no private pool, no sharing pool) (2YZ).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased safety risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, schauinsland-reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room; this means occupancy: 2 people per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Junior Suite Pool Access Terrace (PUJ192I)

Equipped similarly to the Junior Suite Pool Access, these Junior Suites are located immediately by the pool, which is accessible via the terrace (no private pool, no sharing pool, JRT). Optionally also bookable for single occupancy (T1D).

One Bedroom Family (PUJ192I)

The approx. 41 m² Family Junior Suites are located on the 1st or 2nd floor near the Star Camp. They offer a king-size bed and a bunk bed (2FP).

Also approx. 41 m² in size and offer immediate access to the beach (AJS/AJR).

Wearing a wristband is necessary to utilize the All-Inclusive services.
In the restaurants, appropriate attire is requested (no swimwear; in the à-la-carte restaurants, long trousers and shirt). In the Dominican Republic, sinks or even bathtubs/whirlpools can be integrated openly into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.

Zusatzhinweis

Features the Winnow system to reduce food waste, 3R equipment for waste management in the hotels, and installed drinking water fountains.
Guests staying at the Bávaro complex can visit the Coral Lab to see corals and learn more about them. Thanks to the two coral nurseries in front of the hotel, where we work with our scientific team to restore the reefs.
The hotel has its own composting facility. Organic waste is converted into compost, which we can use for our gardens.
We are part of the country's national mangrove restoration program, and in the Bávaro complex, we have planted more than 19,000 mangroves donated by the Ministry of Environment.
Beehives are rescued and brought to the apiary we have in the complex, which can be visited by all guests.
In collaboration with the National Aquarium, the Institute for Environmental Law of the Dominican Republic, and the Blue Flag program, the National Aquarium rescues turtles. Once they have reached an appropriate size and health, they are released on the beaches of the Iberostar hotels.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, there may be an increased occurrence of seagrass and algae due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased incidence of brown algae in the Caribbean is frequently recorded during this time. The beach and the sea are affected by this. The hotel management and local authorities are, of course, making every effort to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with the local municipalities. However, the use of appropriate machinery is necessary for this, which causes a slight background noise.
