Completely renovated in winter 19/20, the Iberostar Selection Bavaro consists of 598 rooms that leave nothing to be desired. These are spread across several two-story bungalows within the tropical hotel grounds. Furthermore, the hotel features a lobby with a reception, buffet restaurant, 6 à-la-carte restaurants (Greek, gourmet restaurant, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and steakhouse), a beach restaurant, 5 bars, a swim-up bar, garden area with a lagoon-style pool landscape, sun terrace, and snack bar.

Junior Suite

The Junior Suites feature a sleeping and living area with a sofa bed, coffee/tea maker, minibar, air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, Wi-Fi (included), telephone, bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, and balcony or terrace (JS2/JS1/KJ1/KJ2). Also bookable as an Oceanfront Junior Suite (2JO) and in winter as a super-saver room (SSZ/SSE).

Junior Suite Tropical View

With the same amenities and size as the Junior Suites, these are located closer to the sea and also offer a turndown service (once per stay), garden or pool view (PTZ). Also bookable closer to the pool as Junior Suite Near Pool (NPS). Also bookable closer to the beach as Junior Suite Near Beach (JNB) or in the first beach row with sea view as Junior Suite Ocean Front (2JO).

Family Suite

Otherwise with the same amenities and size as the Junior Suites, these consist of two Junior Suites with a connecting door (2FS/KF3/KF5/KF6).

Spa Junior Suite

With the same amenities and size as the Junior Suites, including a king-size bed or two double beds, tea set, and bathrobes (J2F).

Junior Suite Pool Access

With the same amenities as the Junior Suite, these rooms feature a terrace and are located directly by the pool (no private pool, no sharing pool) (2YZ).
Rooms with direct pool access pose an increased potential danger for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Note

In the Caribbean, most rooms are equipped with two queen-size beds (approx. 1.40 x 2m). For occupancy of 2 adults + 1/2 children/3 adults, no extra beds will be placed in the room; meaning occupancy: 2 persons per bed, even if extra beds are listed on the confirmation!

Junior Suite Pool Access Terrace (PUJ192I)

Equipped similarly to the Junior Suites Pool Access, these Junior Suites are located directly by the pool, which is accessible via the terrace (no private pool, no sharing pool, JRT). Optionally also bookable for single use (T1D).

One Bedroom Family (PUJ192I)

The approx. 41 m² Family Junior Suites are located on the 1st or 2nd floor near the Star Camp. They offer a king-size bed and a bunk bed (2FP).

Junior Suite Beach Access (PUJ192I)

Also approx. 41 m² in size and offer immediate access to the beach (AJS/AJR).

Appropriate attire is requested in the restaurants (no swimwear; long trousers and shirts in the à-la-carte restaurants). In the Dominican Republic, sinks or bathtubs/whirlpools may be integrated openly into the general living area of the hotel room without spatial separation.

Zusatzhinweis

Features the Winnow system to reduce food waste, 3R devices for waste management in the hotels, and installed drinking water fountains.
Guests staying in the Bávaro complex can visit the Coral Lab to see corals and learn more about them, thanks to the two coral nurseries in front of the hotel, where we work with our scientific team to restore the reefs.
The hotel has its own composting facility. Organic waste is converted into compost that can be used for our gardens.
We are part of the country's national mangrove restoration program, and in the Bávaro complex, we have planted more than 19,000 mangroves donated by the Ministry of Environment.
Beehives are rescued and taken to the apiary we have in the complex, which can be visited by all guests.
In collaboration with the National Aquarium, the Dominican Institute of Environmental Law, and the Blue Flag program, the National Aquarium rescues turtles. Once they reach an appropriate size and state of health, they are released on the beaches of the Iberostar hotels.

Seasonal information

For stays between April and December, increased seaweed and algae may occur due to wind, temperature, and currents. In particular, an increased occurrence of brown algae in the Caribbean is often recorded then. This affects the beach and the sea. The hotel management and local authorities naturally strive to clean affected beach sections in cooperation with municipal administrations. This requires the use of appropriate equipment, which generates a slight noise level.
